Are You Into Theatre and Drama?

  Are you into acting and drama? Well, Theatre and Drama Club is a great way to show off your personality, make new friends and have a great high school experience! Interested? Auditions for the current Fall Play “Peter and the Startcatcher” occur September 26  and rehearsals begin September 30. 

   If an actor makes it through the auditions, the average rehearsal will consist of the director guiding the actors through their movements on stage, known as blocking, this is when the actors learn where they need to be at different points in the play.  

Another component of the routine in rehearsals is when actors practice their lines and try on their costumes. Sunny Wiggins, senior, said, “In order to keep a positive mindset, I make sure to practice so I'm confident, and remember that no role is life or death. I think it's important to remember that I will do other important things in my life and no show is the be all and end all.” 

Don't be afraid to be brave and just try, your highschool experience will be a story to tell. The Spring musical is another great way to show off your skills and personality, details for that event are to be determined. If you have any question, they should be directed to Mrs. Morgan, drama teacher, who  is always in the drama room.
