Broadcasting is an organization of Pueblo County High School that creates videos for different topics. They also do livestreams for the several events in the county. Being in the SEBS section of the school, but not an actual part of SEBS. Helping make PCHS a part of the social media community. Junior Gavin Cosato is one of those members of broadcasting.

“The main purpose of broadcasting is to create videos for different topics, such as an animal PSA video. We also stream County's sports for everybody to see,” said Junior Gavin Cosato.

Cosato is a broadcasting student at Pueblo County High School. He has been a member for 2 years. Being a valued member of their team, helping all he can. Filming, editing and posting the recordings and videos they create. Working together as a well-fueled machine to help lead them to success.

“Broadcasting means a lot to me as it's where most of my friends are and it's the most fun I have in any of my classes. I plan on having my career in some sort of broadcasting, so it's also helpful for me to learn about the ins and outs of broadcasting,” said Cosato.

Broadcasting is not just a small group of people, it is an entire corporation. With friends working together to make the product of their toil. Making the people who want to have a career in broadcasting, to be prepared for their job in broadcasting.

“The school is impacted by broadcasting because since we stream games, people who didn't go to watch the game in person are still able to see what happened,” said Cosato

Broadcasting impacts Pueblo County High School in many ways. Cosato said that they stream games so anyone who missed out can watch it. So let's say there was a grandma who wanted to watch her grandson's basketball game. Well, with the help of broadcasting, now she can.

“My favorite part of broadcasting is filming videos. We tend to have fun topics, so filming videos is always intriguing,” said Cosato.

Broadcasting is a serious class, but every class has a little fun. Making the script can be a tedious and difficult process. Following several different guidelines so it makes it different and enjoyable. But after that the fun part begins with filming. A great experience where you have a fun time making an interesting video with your friends.

“I joined broadcasting mostly to fill a spot in my schedule, but the class was such a great time that I've decided to stay with it for the rest of high school. Currently, as a junior, I have been in broadcasting for 2 years.”

At first, for some people, this was just to get a credit to pass. But sometimes when you join a class like broadcasting, it can become your new favorite thing. You may start as a freshman and want to stay for all 4 years of high school.

Broadcasting is more than just a simple filming organization. It’s a place where friends are made and fun is guaranteed. Cosato has been there for two years and he loves it. Getting people ready if they want to be part of a broadcasting job. Keep your eye out for them during your sports events because that person behind the camera is putting in 110 percent for their class.
