From Aug. 22. to Sep. 1, Future Farmers of America, an agricultural organization focused on getting students involved with agriculture, was present at the Colorado State Fair educating the community on agriculture.

Abigail Medved, a chapter officer in the FFA said, “FFA is a chance for kids to get involved in agriculture even if they don't have it at home. I personally don't have any livestock at home at the moment, but because of FFA, I was able to get involved in floriculture.”

FFA had individuals from universities like Colorado State University Fort Collins teaching and talking about different animals, including cows, goats, sheep, and pigs.

Wyatt Antle, also involved in FFA said, “For each animal there was some educational activities, like for the sheep there was wool next to them, and an old fashioned machine that would turn the wool into shirts, for the pigs there was a statue next to them, marked with what they had, like their hooves, their ribs, and their snout.”

FFA continues to teach the community about agriculture and get more people involved everyday, and would be a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting into agriculture.
