Anahata Healing Yoga Studio

5/27/2021

By: Addison Doub

Anahata Healing is a local yoga studio located on 3942 Ivywood Ln, that prides itself in creating a beautiful and close-knit community. This yoga studio is used for more than just yoga itself, it is also a gathering place for spiritual healers and teachers alike. This is a place of comfort and solace for many who attend on a weekly basis. The natural lighting, calm surroundings, and kind community make for a welcoming experience.

The studio is owned but not strictly operated by Jessica (Jesse) and Charles Jaquez. “My husband and I believe in a gentler way of healing.” Jessica says. Jesse says she loves talking about galactic things along with her passion for healing that she shares with her husband. They started gaining inspiration for the studio about 3 or 4 years ago. This is around the time when the renovation started for the space. Before, it was Tracy’s place, a hair studio. The owners have transformed the space into a calm and relaxing haven to practice peaceful rituals for health.

What actually happens inside the studio? Jessica states “Well I am not classically trained at all. I think that’s a bit of a gift.” She described that she has a more laid-back approach to managing the studio in the sense that she is not strict with the teachers or what is practiced within the space “as long as they’re kind,” is what she expressed.

The employees have different expertise at Anahata Healing including certified yoga teachers, reiki masters, healers, and other talents. Currently, there are a total of 6 teachers teaching at the studio currently. Jesse comments “I think all of their flavors are so cool.” There is certainly a beautiful diversity of people involved in the community they have created.

Jessica mentions other health motivations, “I am a humongous advocate about water. We are severely dehydrated and electrical beings.” She spends large portions of her time away from the phone for this very reason, to be more present in life and get away from the electronics. A positive example we can all certainly take into consideration for our own lives.

Regarding future passion projects and events, Jesse says she wants to start a new class called “the good stuff” that includes basic yoga poses and basic moves for anyone to practice. She mentioned that she would love to create a larger community within younger people as well. Jessica knows many who would benefit from coming together and creating a group to get to know each other and share experiences. She is excited about hosting community events in the near future.

The Anahata Healing Studio is a cozy and welcoming space for anyone who is willing to heal. The studio has created a wonderful community where many friendships blossom. The Anahata Healing Studio hopes to attract more people and spread more positivity in the world.
