Many people have very different plans for Thanksgiving this year. A lot of people have to go to multiple houses on holiday, to get the full family experience. I plan on helping my family cook a delicious meal. Once dinner times comes around, we will all sit around the table and enjoy the home cooked meal.  What are your plans?

Freshman, Justyna Camacho, said she is excited for this Thanksgiving break because she’s going to “hang out with family and friends making good memories.” Camacho said she can’t wait to spend time at both of her parents’ houses and visit with family she hasn’t seen in a while.

Freshman, Marcus Medina, said he is also very excited for his Thanksgiving dinner because “it’s the one time of year his favorite foods get cooked.” Medina said he usually goes to two or three houses with his mom and dad’s side of the family.

Deygo Hernandez said, “I plan on staying home, hanging out with friends and family.” Hernandez can’t wait for Thanksgiving dinner because their family gets together and eats the food, they all helped cook. Hernandez usually have their grandmas’ tamales, turkey, ham, vegetables and desert. They plan on staying at their uncle’s house enjoying their Thanksgiving Day.

All people have many different ways of celebrating this special holiday, but it always includes family. So, what does Thanksgiving mean to you? Personally, to me Thanksgiving means a day to spend time with your family and friends enjoying a home cooked meal, celebrating all the reasons we give thanks. I am thankful on the Thanksgiving for my friends, family and the ability to be here with all of the people I love and care about.
