Ms. Gilman, the director of Pueblo County High Schools’ Arts Academy, has put together the highschools’ fall play of the year. The play has been rewritten numerous times, but TAA selected Kate Hamill’s’ variation. The play carries very important and impacting morals that can be beneficial to students on campus.
Little Women is based in the 1860s’ during the U.S. Civil War. It shows a struggling family during this time. The father of the four girls is drafted into the war, and they beat around the bush for ways to distract, get through, and cope together. This allows the viewer to interpret struggles faced within this time period, and have an idea of what conflicts the individuals faced surrounding the war.
Rehearsals have been fairly frequent and strict for the preparation within the play. Many students have committed their time and effort into a beautiful piece that shall soon be seen among the high school students of PCHS. The production is airing Nov. 10-12 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. Adult tickets cost ten dollars, and students remain a five dollar entry.
