Pueblo County High School put up a mighty fight against longtime rival, Pueblo West High School in this year's annual Pigskin Classic at CSU Thunderbowl Stadium, Friday, September 2 at 7 p.m. After about a 30 minute lightning delay in the first quarter, the game was finally in play. A spectator, AJ French, freshman, stated, “The spirit teams along with the band and football team carried themselves well throughout the circumstance of the game. They kept their head in the game and pushed through.” At the end of the first half, PCHS was still fighting to get digits on the board. Cheerleader Abigail Cooper, junior, stated, “Performing for the game was beyond exciting, hearing the Rowdies cheer for the team was beyond inspiring and motivating to witness.” With the ending score of 7-41, Pueblo County High School stayed positive and definitely won halftime with amazing performances from Varsity Dance, Varsity Cheer, and Band! Jada Jones, junior, stated “Although we lost, our halftime performances and Rowdies made the game worthwhile.” Julianna Nuzzo, junior member of the PCH Cheer Squad, said, “Okay, I'm not going to lie, I was proud of our team. We scored!” Concluding the evening, the Rowdies received the “KRDO Channel 13, Friday Night Blitz Spirit Award.” The link to Rob Namnoum’s article can be found here. https://krdo.com/news/local-news/2022/09/02/friday-night-blitz-spirit-award-pueblo-county/ Comments are closed.
