On May 5, 2022 at Pueblo County High School, put on an assembly held for the Unified Basketball team. Due to COVID-19, County High school was not able to host this assembly until the 21-22 school year. Now what is Project Respect? “Project Respect is a student-led  school-wide campaign to spread the word of inclusion. Meaning, accepting all people as equals, making sure they have access to services and opportunities. It also reminds us that words are powerful and we all need to discontinue using hurtful language. The goal is to create a world of inclusion for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.” says Karen Macaluso. The whole school and community members came to show their support for the students. “The students love playing in front of their peers; the excitement of everyone cheering them on and being able to showcase their abilities”, said Macaluso.
