Snapchat is an app that came out in July of 2011 and was created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, former students at Stanford University. It changed how so many people communicated and took photos. Instead of a raw and natural photo, people use filters because it makes them “look better.” So, I went around and asked people on their opinions.

“It’s the easiest way to connect with my friends. I use it every day of my life.” Alyssa Pacheco says. “I do use filters a lot because it makes me look better. I have thirty streaks and my highest is one hundred and forty days.” Pacheco also said, “If my account was deleted or I didn’t have Snapchat I probably wouldn’t talk to about half the people I talk to in person.” Although she also stated, “I do believe that the world would be better off without Snapchat.”

“I hate snapchat but I still use it, only to talk to my girlfriend.” Camerron Martin says. “I don’t use the camera and I don’t look at stories unless they are a personal friend.” Martin also says, “I have one streak and it’s sixty-three days.” Martin says, “I really wouldn’t mind if I didn’t have Snapchat. I think the world would be way better off without it.”

“I like Snapchat, I use it for keeping in touch with my friends.” Erika Maes said. “Sometimes I use the camera but it’s only when I’m taking pictures with my friends.” No I do not watch peoples stories, because I see no reason to see what everyone else is doing.” Maes also said, “I don't do streaks with anybody. I will just text people from other social media platforms.” Maes said, “Not really because Snapchat is just one of many social media platforms so it won’t really make a difference if I didn’t have it.” Maes said as a conclusion.

“Personally, I only use it to message one or two friends, other than that I don’t use it.” Logan Wills said. “I don’t use the filters, nor the camera and I don’t look at anyone’s stories.” Wills also said, “I don’t have streaks because there’s no point in it.” “If Snapchat got deleted I would solely message from Discord.” Wills thinks that the world would absolutely be a better place without Snapchat.

Three out of the four people I asked for their opinions said the world would be better off without Snapchat. One said that it wouldn’t make a difference. So, what do you guys think Pueblo County High School? Would you be better off without Snapchat?
